It is the space. Artworks 1935 - 2012

July 7th - September 30th, 2012

Born in 1925, Erich Reusch, who initially worked as an architect, deals with the examination of the space. Already in the 1950s he had created new conceptual impulses for sculptures, which are no longer presented independently on context and isolated on a base, but opened up to its environment as an individual place. In his works Erich Reusch adds an exploring value to space, giving every viewer an own individual experience. One focus of the exhibition is the new space-related, decentralised wall objects. Besides, sculptures, drawings and photographs are displayed, providing an overview of Reuchs œuvre from 1935 until today. An acoustic work will also be part of the exhibition.

Furthermore, there are two permanent steel works situated in the park of Haus Weitmar, so one can explore the impact of his objects not only in the interior but also exterior of Situation Kunst.

An exhibition catalogue will be available at the museum shop (82pages, 56 ill., 16 Euros).

The exhibition is supported by the Förderverein Situation Kunst - Haus Weitmar e.V.
